Christmas is getting nearer and this challenge is also moving forward and I am liking every day of it! Today I have made a skittle manicure (all nails different but forming a cohesive whole) with my favourite Holiday Colours, white, green, red, golden, silver and black, did I miss any? haha

La Navidad se va acercando y este reto tambien va cogiendo carrerilla y me están gustando cada uno de los días! Hoy he hecho una manicura skittle (todas las uñas diferentes formando un unico conjunto) con mis Colores de Fiesta favoritos, blanco, verde, rojo, dorado, plateado y negro, se me olvida alguno? jaja

The perfect holiday manicure! On my Index Finger I have used a base of China Glaze Holly Day and then topped it with Yes Love Snow Flack 17. The Middle and Ring Fingers have Flormar 310 as the base, but the first one has stripes made with Wynie 302 and BPS Striping Tape; and the second one has different sized dots made with China Glaze Passion. Last, but not least, we have Kiko Starry Black one of the polishes from the Sugar Matt Collection that is an exact dupe for Zoya Pixie Dust Dahlia.

Es la manicura de Navidad perfecta! En mi dedo Índice he utilizado como base China Glaze Holly Day y encima Yes Love Snow Flack 17. Los dedos Corazón y Anular llevan Flormar 310 de base, pero el primero tiene líneas con Wynie 302 y Stipping Tape de BPS; y el segundo puntos de diferentes tamaños hechos con China Glaze Passion. Por último, tenemos Kiko Starry Black, uno de los esmaltes de la Colección Sugar Matt que es un clon exacto de Zoya Pixie Dust Dahlia.

I think my favourite nail is the index, I really like that Yes Love topper and pairing it with Holly Day was a terrific combination! Also I have seen so many times textured polishes used for accent nails and I have never tried it until now, and I think I like it, although texture is not what I really like to feel on my nails...

Creo que mi uña favorita es la ïndice, me encanta ese topper de Yes Love y juntarlo con Holly Day hizo una combinación genial! Además he visto tantas veces los esmaltes con textura como accent nails y nunca lo había intentado hasta ahora, creo que me gusta, aun sabiendo que textura no es lo que más me gusta sentir en las uñas...

Overall I am very happy with how this manicure turned out. What do you think?

Y por supuesto también hay una gran cantidad de manicuras tan increíbles que me encantaría probarlas todas! No estoy segura de si será permanente, vamos a ver si os gusta o no.

SummerNails Challenge #13: Puesta de Sol/Sunset

Hi!
Finally I have been able to buy a good light bulb and start painting my nails and taking pictures again... You never know how important is to have the correct light to take pictures until you have to do it using a crappy yellow light bulb... And here in Sweden it's important to take the pictures in artificial light because in a few months daylight will be extremely rare...
Well, I have skipped a few days of this challenge but I promise I will catch up soon, meanwhile here it is the Sunset inspired Manicure that is meant to be posted today.

Por fin he podido comprar una buena bombilla y comenzar a pintarme las uñas y hacer fotos de nuevo... No se sabe lo importante que es tener la luz correcta para hacer fotos hasta que tienes que hacerlo con una bombilla cutre de luz amarilla... Y aquí en Suecia es importante hacer las fotos con luz artificial, ya que en unos meses la luz del día será muy escasa...
Bueno, me he saltado algunos días de este reto pero os prometo ponerme al día pronto, mientras aquí tenéis la Manicura inspirada en la Puesta de Sol que se debe subir hoy.

Sunset? Yes! I didn't want to make another gradient for sunset, but if you were expecting that you can go to my last year Summer Lovin Manicure and I think you will find what you were looking for ;)
This time I went for a more abstract look, but using, more or less, the same gradient of colours, from purple to yellow.



¿Puesta de Sol? Si! No quería hacer otro degradado para la puesta de sol, pero si estabais esperando algo así podeis ir a mi Manicura de Summer Lovin del año pasado y creo que encontraréis lo que estabais buscando ;)
Esta vez he querido hacer algo más abstracto, pero usando más o menos la misma gama de colores, de morado a amarillo.

Here in Sweden I don't have a lot of polishes (I had to left way more that half of my stash...) so I will be using acrylics more often. To make this manicure I first applied two coats of Kiko 332, a light purple, and then, using tape applied one coat of red polish, Wynie 302. Then I painted the rest of the colours with acrylics following the pattern the tape had left.



Aquí en Suecia no tengo muchos esmaltes (Tuve que dejar más de la mitad de mi colección...) así que comenzaré a utilizar los acrílicos más amenudo. Para hacer esta manicura primero apliqué dos capas de Kiko 332, un morado claro, y luego, usando celo, apliqué una capa de esmalte rojo, Wynie 302. Luego pinté el resto de los colores con acrílicos, siguiendo el diseño que había dejado el celo.

Winter Holiday Challenge #5: Christmas Decoration

Today you are going to forgive me because of the less wordy blog post, but I'm having a cold and I don't feel very well... All I want to do is rest, sleep and watch TV, but I can't because I have lots of manicures to do, homework, college...
I did this manicure when I was still feeling well, so I loved it, but now I don't feel so happy about it...

Hoy me vais a perdonar por el post cortito, pero estoy pasando un resfriado y no me siento muy bien... Todo lo que me apetece hacer es descansar, dormir y ver la tele, pero no puedo porque tengo un montón de manicuras que hacer, deberes, ir a la facultad...
Hice esta manicura cuando todavía me encontraba bien, y me encantó, pero ahora ya no estoy tan segura...

I tried to combine the Half Moon Manicure with drawing a Mistletoe Wreath. I first used just one coat of Barry M Gold Foil, and then drew the Christmas Wreath with China Glaze Holly Day and then the red berries with Winye 302.



He intentado combinar una Half Moon Manicure con el dibujo de una Corona de Muérdago. Primero utilicé una sola capa de Barry M Gold Foil, y luego dibujé la Corona de Navidad con China Glaze Holly Day y luego los frutos rojos con Wynie 302.

Well I hope you liked it... I think its a good and simple manicure to wear on Christmas Day (I don't know why but I tend to wear golden things on Christmas...) Good Night Everyone!!

Reto Oh Oh Oh! #2: Bastones de Caramelo

Hummm... I am feeling closer to Christmas... Today is holiday in Spain, so I don't have to go to college and I'm spending my free day relaxing, painting my nails and sewing a costume I'm going to wear this Saturday for a Manga Convention here where I live!
Candy Cane is the theme for the Oh Oh Oh! Challenge of today and I thought that a water marble would be perfect, but you all know water marble is not my thing so I cheated ;) and I have done a "Wax Paper" Marble... Do you like the result?

Hummm... Ya me siento más cerca de las Navidades... Hoy es día de fiesta en España, así que no tengo que ir a la universidad y estoy pasando mi dia de descanso relajándome, pintándome las uñas y cosiendo un disfraz que llevaré este Sábado a una Convención Manga que hacen por aquí!
El tema del Reto Oh Oh Oh! de hoy es Bastones de Caramelo y pensé que un Water Marble quedaría perfecto, pero ya sabeis que los Water Marble no son lo mío, así que e hecho trampas ;) y he hecho un "Papel de Horno" Marble... Os gusta el resultado?

I made the Water Marble on top of wax paper instead of doing it with water, I just painted one coat of Wynie 302 on the wax paper and before it was dry I painted a thin line in white(Flormar 400). Finally I dragged the red across the white line alternating directions, just like the picture shows. For the accent nail I just changed the colours.
I liked the result but I thought it was a bit plain, so I added the silver dots with a dotting tool.



He hecho el Water Marble encima del papel de horno en vez de hacerlo con agua, simplemente pinté una capa de Wynie 302 en el papel de horno y antes de que se secara pinté una linea fina en blanco (Flormar 400). Paa terminar arrastré el rojo sobre la línea blanca alternando las direcciones, como se ve en la siguiente imagen. Para el accent nail simplemente cambié los colores.
Me gustaba el resultado pero me pareció que quedaba un poco soso, así que le añadí los puntos plateados con un dotting tool.

When you have done the design on the wax paper you have to let it dry completely, peel it glue the piece you want to your nails with top coat and remove the excess with acetone and a brush or a cotton ball.
I tried some designs before I decided to use this one, that's the fun part about this technique, you can play mixing the colours and doing swirls and finally choose the piece you like more for your nails.



Cuando ya habeis hecho el diseño en el papel de horno hay que dejarlo secar completamente, despegar la parte que quieres ponerte en las uñas, pegarla con topcoat y quitar lo que sobra con acetona y un pincel o un bastoncillo de algodón.
Probé con varios diseños antes de decidirme por este, esa es la parte divertida de esta técnica, podeis jugar mezclando los colores y haciendo dibujos y al final escoger la zona que más te guste para tus uñas.

Esmaltofílicas, El Reto #14: Serie de Animación Favorita

As I told you before today is the last day of the Esmaltofílicas Challenge... Buuuuhuuu!! I have enjoyed every day of this challenge, and I'm very sad it's over... But, I'm really excited because I've joined two Christmas Challenges!!
I chose for today's challenge Winnie the Pooh and all his friends!!!

Como os dije antes, hoy es el último día del Reto de Esmaltofílicas... Buuuhuuu!! He disfrutado cada día de este reto, y estoy triste de que se haya acabado... Pero estoy muy emocionada porque me he comprometido con otros dos Retos de Navidad!!
Para el tema de hoy he escogido a Winnie the Pooh y sus amigos!!

My inspiration was a picture that I found on Pinterest, but I couldn't find the source...
To make the design I used lots of nail polishes:
Yellow: Bourjois Jaune Trendy. Red: Wynie 302. Orange: Bourjois Orange Creation. Blue: Kiko 401. Nude: Catrice Sing Oh Champs Elisees. Pink: Yes Love Pastel Pink and Kiko 402.



Mi inspiración fue una imagen de Pinterest, pero no he sido capaz de encontrar a la autora...
Para hacer el diseño he usado varios esmaltes diferentes:

Amarillo: Bourjois Jaune Trendy. Rojo: Wynie 302. Naranja: Bourjois Orange Creation. Azul: Kiko 401. Nude: Catrice Sing Oh Champs Elisees. Rosa: Yes Love Pastel Pink and Kiko 402.

Halloween Challenge #8: Blood/ Gore/ Splatter

Hi girls!
Finally I have been able to take pictures with my camera. I lost my SD and I didn't even get the chance to do the manicures, so, because today is Halloween, I am going to post all the manicures I have missed.
We are going to start with the blood/gore/splatter, I wasn't really on the mood of making another splatter (I didn't want to mess up everything, and I also hate the cleanup...) So I made this... thing... using the fan brush.

Por fin he podido hacer fotos con mi cámara. Perdí mi SD y ni siquiera he tenido tiempo de hacer las manicuras, así que, como hoy es Halloween, voy a subir todas las manicuras que llevo atrasadas.
Vamos a comenzar por la de blood/gore/splatter, no tenía ningunas ganas de hace otro splatter (No quería ensuciarlo todo y además odio limpiarlo...) Así que he hecho..... esto.... usando un pincel en abanico.

I started with a base of Catrice Sing Oh! Champs Eliseés and I made brush strokes with Kiko 323, a chocolate brown. On top I made more brush strokes with Wynie 302 and finally I added more brush strokes just on the tips with China Glaze Ruby Pumps (a red glitter polish with jelly base)



Comencé con una base de Catrice Sing Oh! Champs Eliseés e hice rayas con el pincel con Kiko 323, un marrón chocolate. Encima hice más líneas con Wynie 302 y para terminar añadí en las puntas China Glaze Ruby Pumps (Un glitter rojo con base jelly)

You may be wondering why I used a chocolate brown first, well, as you can see, it gives the impression of dried blood (which is kind of brown...) I know is not a splatter, but it's bloody and gore so I hope you like it!

Tal vez os esteis preguntando por qué use primero un marrón chocolate, bueno, como podeis ver en algunas zonas da la impresión de sangre seca (que es mas o menos marrón...) Ya se que esta manicura no es splatter, pero es sangrienta y gore, asi que espero qeu os guste!

Disney Challenge Day 29: El Rey León

Hi!
This is another late manicure, The Lion King. I didn't know what to do because all the images that came to my mind were too tall to paint them on my nails, so finally I decided to do the obvious, a big sun with the silouettes of the main characters in black. Can you guess who they are??

Esta es otra de las manicuras que llevo atrasadas, El Rey León. No sabía qué hacerme para esta manicura porque todas las imágenes que se me ocurrian eran demasiado altas para hacerlas en las uñas, así que al final decidí hacer lo obvio, un gran sol con las siluetas de los personajes principales en negro. ¿Podríais adivinar quien es cada uno?

For the base I used Wynie 302 and added everything else with acrylic paint. Do you like this movie?

Disney Challenge Day 23: ¿Quien Engañó a Roger Rabbit?

Hi everyone!!
As I promised here it is the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" manicure. I love this movie, is really crazy just like me. Even if you don't know the movie you may know the famous words said by Jessica Rabbit: "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way..."

¡¡Hola a Todas!!
Como os prometí aquí está la manicura de "¿Quién Engañó a Roger Rabbit?". Me encanta esta película, es muy loca, como yo. Incluso si no habeis visto nunca la película conocereis la famosa frase de Jessica Rabbit: "No soy mala, solo me han dibujado así..."

As some of my challenge friends I loved this character and I decided to dedicate this manicure to her.
I'm really proud of the portrait, you know I always say that faces are my nemesis but I keep trying and as some times I show you my fails, today I think is a success! I love the shadows in her neck and the gradient of her eyeshadow, but I have to keep working on my noses... Here you have a close up.

Como a muchas de mis compañeras del reto me encanta este personaje y decidí dedicarle esta manicura.
Estoy muy orgullosa de como ha quedado el retrato, ya sabeis que siempre digo que las caras son mi pesadilla pero lo sigo intentando e igual que a veces os enseño mis fails hoy creo que ha sido un exito! Me encantan las sombras de su cuello y el degradado de la sombra de ojos, pero aun tengo que trabajar en las narices... Aquí teneis un close up.

The base is Wynie 302, and then I added translucent hex glitters to make her sequined dress. The drawing is made with acrylic paints, and everything is topped with Seche Vite.
I hope you liked it, I will try to make The Little Mermaid manicure for tomorrow but I'm not sure if I'm going to have enough time...

La base es Wynie 302, y encima añadí glitter hexagonal translúcido para hacer su vestido de lentejuelas. El dibujo está hecho con pintura acrílica, y todo cubierto con una capa de Seche Vite.
Espero que os haya gustado, intentaré hacer la manicura de La Sirenita para mañana, pero no estoy segura de tener tiempo suficiente...

Summer Challenge Day 26: Euro 2012 Football

Hi Ladies! I was waiting for this day to show you the manicure I wore the day of the Final match between Spain and Italy. I was going to go to a bar with my friends to see the match so I made a simple manicure to support my country (SPAIN!!)

Hola chicas! Estaba esperando a este día para enseñaros la manicura que llevé el día de la final de España contra Italia. Iba a ir a un bar con unos amigos para ver el partido, así que me hice una manicura sencilla para apoyar a mi país (ESPAÑA!!) 

I's sorry for the bad quality picture, but it was taking under artificial light and my camera didn't want to cooperate. I made a french manicure in white, and then added the spanish flags with tape and acrylics. The ring finger is painted with tape and then red and golden glitter on top. Finally I added a fine line of silver glitter outlining the french manicure.

Siento la mala calidad de la foto, pero la hice bajo luz artificial y mi camara no quiso cooperar. Hice una manicura francesa en blanco y luego añadí las banderas con celo y acrilicos. El anular está pintado con celo y luego con glitter rojo y dorado encima. Al final añadí una fina línea de glitter en plata delineando la manicura francesa.

Summer Challenge Day 24: Underneath the Stars

I'm back! It has been really weird not to post in two weeks or so... But I had my finals and I was feeling so nervous that made me sick, and I wasn't on the mood to paint my nails. The good news are that I am on HOLIDAYS!!! I don't have to study anymore (until september I'm afraid) and my nails have grown a lot on this two weeks and that makes me want to paint them again! I have waiting for this day because I was dying to do a galaxy mani and "Underneath the stars" seemed the perfect day.
So, here it is, it's not perfect but I like the result, it's colourful.

He vuelto! Ha sido muy extraño no escribir en estas dos semanas... pero tenía los exámenes finales y estaba tan nerviosa que hasta me encontraba mal, y no me apetecía pintarme las uñas. Lo bueno es que ahora estoy DE VACACIONES!!! Ya no tengo que estudiar más (hasta Septiembre, me temo) y mis uñas han crecido bastante estas dos semanas asi que me vuelve a apetecer pintarme las uñas! He estado esperando este día porque me moría por hacer unas Galaxy Nails y el día "Underneath the stars" parecía perfecto.
Bueno, aquí la teneis, no esta perfecta pero me gusta el resultado, es colorido.

MSMD Cookie Monster

Hi ladies!! I apologize for not doing the last Summer Challenge Manicure, but I promise tomorrow I will show you what I did for that day and what I have to do for tomorrow, two for the price of one!!
But today I want to show you a MSMD manicure that I'm proud of.

Hola chicas! Siento no haber posteado la última manicura del Summer Challenge, pero prometo que mañana os enseñaré lo que hice para ese día y también lo que toca para mañana, dos en uno!!

Hoy os quiero enseñar una manicura MSMD de la que estoy muy orgullosa.

It's so funny right? I love Cookie Monster. First, when I was looking for some inspiration and I saw this manicure at RobinMoses Blog I fell in love with it but I thought it was way to difficult for my skills, but the AMAZING Robin Moses do tutorials for all the manicures she posts, and she has unbelivable manicures!!, so I decided to give it a shot and try it. And it turned really simple, THE TUTORIAL was very detailed and easy to follow and I didn't have any problems, and of course loved the result.

For this manicure I used:

Base: WYNIE nº302

Drawings: Acrylic paint in black, white, brown, orange, blue and yellow.

Es muy divertida verdad? Me encanta el Monstruo de las Galletas. Al principio, cuando estaba buscando inspiración vi esta manicura en el  Blog de RobinMoses  y me enamoré de ella, aunque pensé que iba a ser demasiado difícil para mí, pero la INCREÍBLE Robin Moses hace tutoriales en vídeo de todas las manicuras que cuelga, y todas son increíbles!!, así que decidí darle una oportunidad e intentarlo. Al final resultó bastante sencilla, EL TUTORIAL  era muy detallado y sencillo de seguir y no tuve ningún problema , y por supuesto me ha encantado el resultado.

Para esta manicura he usado:

Dibujos: Pintura acrílica en negro, blanco, marrón, naranja, azul y amarillo.
