China Glaze Flying Dragon

Hi Everyone!
You know I'm not used to do swatches, but until I have some Nail Art to show you I thought it would be good to upload swatches of amazing polishes that I really love, but I think they don't get enough attention when I put Nail Art on top. One of these cases is China Glaze Flying Dragon, a neon purple polish with bright blue micro glitter!

Ya sabeis que yo no suelo hacer swatches, pero hasta que no tenga algo de Nail Art que enseñaros he pensado que sería bueno subir swatches de esmaltes que me encantan, pero que creo que no reciben suficiente atención cuando le pongo Nail Art encima. Uno de estos casos es China Glaze Flying Dragon, un esmalte morado neón con micro glitter azul brillante!

As other China Glaze neon polishes it dries matte, so I applied one coat of Seche Vite to take the pictures. This nail polish was really difficult to photograph, the glitter wouldn't show up on the pictures and the color wasn't nearly accurate! So I'm really sorry but these are the best pictures I could take, and I had to change the colours so they would be closer to the real polish.



Como otros esmaltes neón de China Glaze seca con acabado mate, así que utilicé una capa de Seche Vite para hacer las fotos. Este esmalte fue muy complicado de fotografiar, el glitter no salía en las fotos y el color no se parecía en lo más mínimo! Así que sintiendolo mucho estas son las mejores fotos que pude sacar, y he tenido que retocar el color para que se parecieran más al original.

Here you can see better the bright blue glitter on the nails, it is very subtle if you don't look closer, but it gives an extra sparkle and an "I don't know what" to the polish that makes it one of my favourites and most interesting. It's really opaque, I only needed two coats to achieve full coverage.



Aquí podéis ver mejor  el glitter azul intenso en las uñas, es poco visible si no lo miras de cerca, pero le da un brillo extra y un "no sé qué" al esmalte que lo hace uno de mis favoritos y más interesantes. Es muy opaco, solo he necesitado dos capas para conseguir una cobertura completa.

I hope despite the colour editing and the crappy pictures you have enjoyed this nail polish as much as I do... I think it really deserves a chance, because it's really unique... also it make a good polish for stamping... only if you are quickly as a lightning! because it dries so fast that it wouldn't transfer from the stamp to the nail...

Espero que a pesar de las ediciones de colores y las fotos de mala calidad os haya gustado este esmalte tanto como a mi... Realmente creo que se merece una oportunidad, porque es verdaderamente único... y además es un buen esmalte para estampar... sólo si sois rápidos como un rayo! porque seca tan rápido que no se transferiría del tampón a las uñas...

Hi girls!
I really couldn't think about a better name for this Nail Art. This is an old manicure I made when I finished my exams on January because I was feeling very tired and down and I needed some colour and creativity in my life and I remembered what everyone used to think about the left half of the brain being the logical and structured brain and the other half (the right side) the creative. This is no longer true but I like to think that I can sometimes get in touch with my creative brain and be impulsive once in a while...

No habría podido escoger un nombre mejor para este Nail Art. Esta es una manicura antigua que hice cuando terminé los examenes en Enero, porque me sentía cansada y apagada y necesitaba algo de color y creatividad en mi vida, así que recordé aquello que se solía decir de que la parte izquierda del cerebro era la lógica y estructurada y la otra mitad (el lado derecho) era la creativa. Esto ya se sabe que no es verdad pero me gusta pensar que puedo de vez en cuando entrar en contacto con mi cerebro creativo y ser impulsiva por una vez...

I loved how the brains looked, so I'm planning on doing something similar for the whole nail, I really think it would be a fun pattern to play with. I used Flormar U08 as the base because I think this polish has a lot of depth, and I wanted the letters to be very visible, everything else is made with Acrylic Paint. And finally a coat of Seche Vite.



Me encantó como quedaron los cerebros, así que estoy pensando en hacer algo parecido para la uña entera, creo que podría ser un diseño divertido con el que jugar. He utilizado Flormar U08 para la base porque creo que este esmalte tiene mucha profundidad, y quería que las letras fueran bien visibles, todo lo demás está hecho con Pinturas Acrílicas. Y finalmente una capa de Seche Vite.

I hope you liked it as much as I loved doing it... I think it's my first Nail Art Therapy and won't be the last one.

Blue Stare: My First Franken Polish

It's been a while since my last post... It has been a little difficult to keep up with all the things in my life and also update the blog regularly, but anyway I apologise.
A long long time ago (Oops! like a fairy tale...) when I didn't know anything about suspension bases or bleeding glitters I spotted a bottle of blue loose glitter at a crafts store and I thought that it would be great if I could mix it with a clear polish and make my own Franken Polish! And this is the result of my adventure!

Ha pasado ya un tiempo desde el último post... Ha sido un poco difícil para mí estar al día con todas las cosas de mi vida diaria y actualizar el blog regularmente, pero de todas formas me disculpo.
Ha mucho mucho tiempo (Ups! Justo como un cuento de hadas...) cuando no sabía nada sobre suspension bases o glitters que destiñen, vi un bote de glitter azul en una tienda de manualidades y pensé que sería genial si pudiera mezclarlo con un esmalte transparente y hacer mi propio Franken Polish! Y este es el resultado de mi aventura!

I think I was really lucky, because the glitter didn't bleed a lot and I don't know what happened but the glitter haven't sank since I made it one year ago! As any polish it has it's ups and downs... it's so loaded with glitter that it's super gloopy. It needs only two coats to achieve full coverage, but it takes FOREVER to dry, so a Fast Drying Top Coat is needed.



Creo que tuve mucha suerte, porque el glitter no destiñó mucho y no sé qué pasó pero el gitter no se ha hundido desde que lo hice hace un año! Como todos los esmaltes tiene sus cosas buenas y malas... Está tan lleno de glitter que es muy espeso. Se necesitan solo dos capas para conseguir cobertura completa, pero tarda TODA UNA VIDA en secar, así que se necesita un Top Coat de Secado Rápido.

I used one coat of Seche Vite to smooth it and it worked really well. This is a macro shot where you can see the size and the amount of glitter. I couldn't capture with my camera, but they are a little bit holographic and sometimes you can see yellow and green sparkles.



He utilizado una sola capa de Seche Vite para suvizar el acabado y funcionó muy bien. En este enfoque macro se puede ve el tamaño y la cantidad del glitter. Con mi cámara no conseguí capturarlo, pero son un poco holográficos y a veces se ven destellos amarillos y verdes.

It really looks like I am wearing jewels on my nails!! I am really bad at making up names, but It was so sparkly and shiny that I couldn't stop looking at them, so I called it Blue Stare, I hope you agree with me. I loved it so much that I'm sure the dying time it's not going to stop me from wearing it from time to time...

Parece de verdad que está llevando joyas en las uñas!! Soy increíblemente mala inventado nombres, pero era tan brillante y colorido que no podía dejar de miralo, así que lo he llamado Blue Stare (Mirada Azul), espero que esteis de acuerdo conmigo. Me ha gustado tanto que estoy segura de que el tiempo que tarda en secar no va a evitar que lo use de cuando en cuando...
