You know my tendency to start more than one challenge at the same time so I couldn't stop with the Tri-Geeks and I signed up for this new one. Un minuto para las Uñas is the mind after this, it's about kinds of polishes finishes, and I decided to join because I think it will be useful for you and also for me because I usually get really confused about this... Today we should post a Creme polish and I chose this one.

Sabeis cuando a veces un tema de un reto parece maldito? No sabes lo que hacer... la inspiracion se ha ido de vacaciones... y cada intento termina en la carpeta de "tal vez algun dia tendré el valor de subirlo en una entrada de fails"... Bueno, esto me ha pasado con el de hoy, intenté casi de todo antes de terminar con algo que me gustara. Espero que os guste a vosotros tambien.

Tristemente os tengo que decir que estoy sin ninguna ispiración, le estoy echando un montón de horas a pintarme las uñas y todo lo que intento sale mal.. Tal vez es que estoy un poco depresiva (esos dias del mes...) pero tengo que hacer algo para los retos asi que... espero que os guste mi manicura Kiss fallada...

I tried to do a water marble (you know it's not really my thing...) with Flormar 400 and China Glaze Ruby Pumps. Finally I tried to stamp the kiss of the Bundle Monster Plates (BM-303) but it was so big it didn't fit my nails so I had to draw it myself with white acrylic paint.



He intentado hacer un water marble (ya sabeis que no es lo que mejor se me da...) con Flormar 400 y China Glaze Tuby Pumps. Para terminar quise estampar el beso de las Placas de Bundle Monster (BM-303) pero es tan grande que no me cabía en la uña y me lo he tenido que dibujar yo misma con pintura acrílica blanca.

Also I'm a little bit frustrated because I'm trying to get better pictures with my new lightbox, and, as you can see, I am having some issues with the lighting... I hope I get better with practice... Maybe tomorrow, if I'm on a good mood, I will try again another kiss manicure. Thank You for stopping by!



También estoy un poco frustrada porque estoy intentando sacar mejores fotos con mi nueva lightbox y, como podeis ver, estoy teniendo algunos problemas con la luz... Water Spotted Gradient Nails

I am so sorry I have been a little MIA lately, but I think you can understand that January it's a hard time for blogging because of all the exams... This week I had some free time and I used it to make lots of manicures, so now I have a lot of blogging material to show you while I'm studying. I promise I am not going to leave you alone again for a looong time!
A few weeks ago I saw an effect that was really similar to OPI Black Spotted effect, the new technique Water Spotted. I am not sure who invented it, but I traced the source to this Youtube video made by CutePolish. And after a whole afternoon practising it (Water + Polish + Me is not a good combination) I ended with something I liked.

Siento mucho haber estado un poco MIA últimamente, pero creo que comprenderéis que Enero es un mes complicado para bloggear por culpa de los exámenes... Esta semana he tenido finalmente algo de tiempo libre y lo que usado para hacer un montón de manicuras, así que ahora tengo mucho material para enseñaros mientras está estudiando. Os prometo que no os voy a volver a dejar solos en muuucho tiempo!
Hace unas semanas vi un efecto que se marecía mucho al efecto de OPI Black Spotted, la nueva técnica Water Spotted. No estoy muy segura de quién la inventó pero he seguido la fuente hasta este video de Youtube hecho por CutePolish. Y después de pasar toda la tarde practicándolo (Agua + Esmalte + Yo no somos una buena combinación) terminé con algo que por fin me gustó.

Wow! I think it's the first time I jump into a new trend in time!! I hope you like it! CutePolish says that she uses Hand sanitizer to make the holes in the water, here in Spain it's hard to find so I tried with Nail Polish Remover and it worked just fine!



Wow! Creo que es la primera vez que me uno a una nueva moda a tiempo!! Espero que os guste! CutePolish dice que ella usa desinfectante de manos para hacer los agujeros en el agua, aquí en España es difícil de encontrar, así que lo he intentado con quitaesmaltes y ha funcionado igual de bien!

I played with different backgrounds for the nails and the one that worked better for me was the gradient, and finally I decided to make a rainbow gradient so we could see the water spotted looks with different colours. I think my favourite finger is the green one. It looks so bright and shiny...



Estuve jugando con fondos diferentes para las uñas y la que más me gustó como quedaba fue el degradado, y finalmente decidí hacer un degradado en arcoiris para que pudiéramos ver cómo queda el water spotted con colores diferentes. Creo que mi dedo preferido es el verde, queda tan intenso y brillante...

Reto Oh Oh Oh! #2: Bastones de Caramelo

Hummm... I am feeling closer to Christmas... Today is holiday in Spain, so I don't have to go to college and I'm spending my free day relaxing, painting my nails and sewing a costume I'm going to wear this Saturday for a Manga Convention here where I live!
Candy Cane is the theme for the Oh Oh Oh! Challenge of today and I thought that a water marble would be perfect, but you all know water marble is not my thing so I cheated ;) and I have done a "Wax Paper" Marble... Do you like the result?

Hummm... Ya me siento más cerca de las Navidades... Hoy es día de fiesta en España, así que no tengo que ir a la universidad y estoy pasando mi dia de descanso relajándome, pintándome las uñas y cosiendo un disfraz que llevaré este Sábado a una Convención Manga que hacen por aquí!
El tema del Reto Oh Oh Oh! de hoy es Bastones de Caramelo y pensé que un Water Marble quedaría perfecto, pero ya sabeis que los Water Marble no son lo mío, así que e hecho trampas ;) y he hecho un "Papel de Horno" Marble... Os gusta el resultado?

I made the Water Marble on top of wax paper instead of doing it with water, I just painted one coat of Wynie 302 on the wax paper and before it was dry I painted a thin line in white(Flormar 400). Finally I dragged the red across the white line alternating directions, just like the picture shows. For the accent nail I just changed the colours.
I liked the result but I thought it was a bit plain, so I added the silver dots with a dotting tool.



He hecho el Water Marble encima del papel de horno en vez de hacerlo con agua, simplemente pinté una capa de Wynie 302 en el papel de horno y antes de que se secara pinté una linea fina en blanco (Flormar 400). Paa terminar arrastré el rojo sobre la línea blanca alternando las direcciones, como se ve en la siguiente imagen. Para el accent nail simplemente cambié los colores.
Me gustaba el resultado pero me pareció que quedaba un poco soso, así que le añadí los puntos plateados con un dotting tool.

When you have done the design on the wax paper you have to let it dry completely, peel it glue the piece you want to your nails with top coat and remove the excess with acetone and a brush or a cotton ball.
I tried some designs before I decided to use this one, that's the fun part about this technique, you can play mixing the colours and doing swirls and finally choose the piece you like more for your nails.



Cuando ya habeis hecho el diseño en el papel de horno hay que dejarlo secar completamente, despegar la parte que quieres ponerte en las uñas, pegarla con topcoat y quitar lo que sobra con acetona y un pincel o un bastoncillo de algodón.
Probé con varios diseños antes de decidirme por este, esa es la parte divertida de esta técnica, podeis jugar mezclando los colores y haciendo dibujos y al final escoger la zona que más te guste para tus uñas.

Summer Challenge Day 25: Summer Water Marble

Wow! Sometimes manicures go wrong, and this is one of them... I suck at doing water marble, and I was planning to do a dry water marble, but I forgot to prepare it yesterday. The problem is that I don't find good polishes that work fine in water, the polishes that I have just don't spread and they dry too fast. Well, that's why my manicure doesn't look summery at all, I used the only colours that I could.

Wow! A veces las manicuras no salen bien, y esta es una de ellas... El water marble me sale fatal, y por ello quería haber hecho un water marble en seco, pero se me olvidó prepararlo ayer. El problema es que no encuentro pintauñas que funcionen en el agua, los que tengo no se esparcen y secan demasiado rápido. Bueno, por eso mi manicura no es nada veraniega, he usado los colores que he podido.

See? But what I love is that I have finally used one of my new Duochrome nail polishes, H&M Lady Luck. As you can see it's a deep green with hints of blue and yellow.

For this manicure I used:

Lo veis? Pero lo que si que me encanta de esta manicura es que he utilizado uno de mis nuevos pintauñas duochromes, H&M Lady Luck. Como podeis ver es un verde esmeralda con reflejos en azul y amarillo.

Green Water Marbling

Hola! Soy Helena otra vez!!

Hoy vamos a ver otra técnica llamada Water Marbling que se hace echando pintura de uñas en agua y luego haciendo diferentes diseños con ellas para ponerlos en las uñas. Se pueden hacer infinitos diseños con esta técnica y así es como me quedó a mi:

Today we're going to see another technique called Water Marbling, that is made pouring nail polish in water and then makin designs that go in your nail. You can make infinit desings with this technique and this is mine:

Para hacer esta manicura utilicé el H&M Verde Oscuro nº17 y el Bourjois Lime Catwalk nº38, y después añadí un poco de purpurina dorada de Claire's.

To make this pattern I used H&M Dark Green nº17 and Bourjois Lime Catwalk nº38, and added some golden glitter from Claire's.
