Hello there!! :)

What a pleasure to be here in Nailwish! Hello to you! I'm Cristina from Portugal and you can find me at The Clockwise Nail Polish blog. I follow Helena since like... for ever! I can't even number the times her nail art work, creativity and manicures blown me away... I think you understand me quite well lol. So, it was with a lot of excitement that I said yes (!) to be here today :) But then come the issue... what to do?! I took a lot of time to think of something and eventually decided to do what I've been wanting to do for a couple of months: a pastel galaxy nail art.

The trick about pastel galaxies is that there's no glitters to it; it was also a difficult task to choose polishes. I started by painting my nails white with China Glaze Snow (3 coats). After dry the fun begun! Using a piece of a makeup sponge I randomly sponged Kiko 385 Blue Pastello, Elixir Make-Up Nº 62 and Pastel Nº100; I assure you it was a coincidence to use only European polishes hehe :p Next was the stars. Normally here I would use a glitter polish in a traditional galaxy nail art. But as a pastel nail art, I did dots here and there using a dotting tool and China Glaze Snow :)

What do you think?? Do you prefer the traditional galaxies or would you try a pastel one? I assure you I love this version! It stayed in my nails for three days :p I'm now crazy and want to try more pastel shades like purple, pink, yellow, white...! Endless possibilities :p Nail wish readers and Helena, I'm repeating myself but it was a huge pleasure to be here! :D Kisses to you all! :)

Reto Zodíaco: Libra

I am here again with another day of the Zodiac Challenge! This month the manicure is about Libra and I read on our Facebook group that the main colour of this sign is light green, so I decided to go for a simple design and this is what came out of my mind.

One of the new things that I am going to start doing here is a new section called Saturday Swatches, where I will start swatching my favourite polishes, or the ones that I think will be more interesting for you.
Today we are going to start with a pretty glitter from the Indie polish brand called Naild'it Unique Nail Polish.

Una de las cosas nuevas que voy a comenzar a hacer por aquí es una nueva sección llamada Saturday Swatches, donde empezare a swatchear mis esmaltes favoritos, o los que me parezcan que son más interesantes para vosotros.
Hoy vamos a empezar con un glitter increíble de la marca de esmaltes Indie llamada Naild'it Unique Nail Polish.

Jellystone is a perfect mix of vivid fuchsia and aqua micro glitter, with tons of hex glitters in pink, purple, teal and silver, combined with bigger pink hex glitters and also tiny teal bars. If you love all kinds of glitters this is your DREAM polish!!



Jellystone es una mezcla perfecta de micro glitter fucsia y aqua, con toneladas de glitter hexagonal en rosa, morado, azul y plateado, combinado con glitter rosa grande y con mini barras de glitter. Si os gusta todo tipo de glitters este es el esmalte de tus SUEÑOS!!

I have to thank Alison for this beauty, because she sent me an enormous package full of Indie polishes as a gift, and this one was on the top of my list waiting until I could get some decent swatches to show you. I love how colourful it is, but still subtle in some way...



Tengo que agradecer a Alison esta maravilla, porque me mando como regalo un paquete enorme lleno de esmaltes Indie, y este estaba el primero de mi lista esperando a que pudiera hacer algunos swatches decentes para enseñároslo. Me encanta lo colorido que es, aun siendo discreto en cierto modo...

Here you can see all the different kinds of glitters... Glitter Party!! I decided to layer it over Kiko 383 making a gradient, and I wasn't at all disappointed with the colour combo! I think they are perfect for each other. The application was flawless, I didn't need to fish for the bigger glitters and I just needed one coat of Seche Vite to smooth it.



Aquí podéis ver todos los tipos de glitter... Glitter Party!! Decidí aplicarlo sobre Kiko 383 haciendo un degradado, y no me decepcionó la combinación de colores para nada! Creo que son perfectos el uno para el otro. La aplicación fue perfecta, no tuve que pescar los glitters más grandes y sólo necesité una capa de Seche Vite para alisarlo.

Seven Deadly Sins Challenge Day 13: Pride

Hi my preciouses!
Did you enjoy my LOTR manicure? I hope you did!
Pride is the last sin of the Deadly Sins Challenge and I am really sad that this is ending, but I am also happy because this was my first time organising a challenge and, even there were things that I could have done better, I think everyone had a great time! Anyway, this is not the last manicure, so let's enjoy it.

Os gustó mi manicura de ESDLA? Espero que si!
Orgullo es el último pecado del Reto de los Pecados Capitales y estoy muy triste de que se esté acabando, pero también estoy contenta porque ha sido mi primera vez organizando un reto y, aunque ha habido cosas que podrían haber salido mejor, creo que todo el mundo l pasó genial! De todas formas, esta no es la última manicura así que disfrutémosla.

The prompt for the first day of Pride says: "Recreate your own work to make it eve better". I made this prompt thinking about being proud of all we have learnt and improved with time, and I loved doing it! The manicure I have recreated was the Day 4 of the Summer Challenge, where I did an orange manicure with shiny dots over a matte base.



Las instrucciones para el primer día de Orgullo dicen: "Recrea tu propio trabajo para hacerlo aún mejor!. Hice estas instrucciones pensando en que todos estuviéramos orgullosos de lo que hemos aprendido y mejorado con el tiempo, y me ha encantado! La manicura que he recreado ha sido el Día 4 del Summer Challenge, donde hice una manicura naranja con lunares brillantes sobre una base mate.

This is the original picture (it has been less than one year ago!), and even I still think I have lots of things to improve, I can see other things that have gone better. Nail shape and length, cuticle care... Also I think my photography skills are better...



Esta es la foto original (Ha pasado menos de un año!), y aunque creo que todavía tengo muchas cosas que mejorar, se puede ver que otras cosas han mejorado. La forma de las uñas y la longitud, cutículas... También creo que mis fotografías son mejores...

In case you liked this manicure and want to recreate it yourself here it is what I used, it's really easy!
Two coats of China Glaze For Audrey, then one coat of Essence Special Effects Topper Soft Touch (matte Topcoat) and finally, playing with dotting tools in different sizes added the details with Seche Vite.

Dos capas de China Glaze For Audrey, luego una capa de Essence Special Effects Topper Soft Touch (mate Topcoat) y para terminar, jugando con dotting tools de diferentes tamaños añadí los detalles con Seche Vite.

Seven Deadly Sins Challenge Day 8: Sloth

Hi Girls!
I told you a few days ago that I feel very identified with the Sin Gluttony, but if I had to choose a sin it would be Sloth... I'm not proud of it, but I just looove to sleep or spend an entire afternoon just doing nothing!
The prompt for today says: "Create a manicure inspired on your laziness... or whatever... I'm so tired..." And this is how I felt yesterday... I didn't want to paint my nails, so I decided to do something quick and I remembered I had to swatch my new Loreal Confetti topper...

Ya os dije hace unos días que me sentía muy identificada con el Pecado Gula, pero si tuviera que escoger un pecado sería el de la Pereza... No estoy muy orgullosa de ello pero esque me encaaanta dormir o pasar una tarde entera sin hacer absolutamente nada!
Las intrucciones de hoy dicen: " Crea una manicura inspirada en tu vagancia... o lo que sea... estoy demasiado cansada..." Y así es justo como me sentía ayer... No quería pintarme las uñas así que decidí hacer algo rápido y recordé que tenía que swatchear mi nuevo topper Loreal Confetti...

I also decided to do some stamping because it's an easy way to get a full nail design... Lazy me... I know sometimes stamping it's not lazy at all because sometimes it's really hard, but you know I usually make my own drawing with acrylic paints, so this is lazy for me...
To make this manicure I used Claire's 137 as the base and applied two coats of Loreal Confetti on my middle finger and pinky, no need of fishing or placing at all. Then I stamped with China Glaze Magical from the Romantique's Collection with BM-310 on my index finger and with BM-215 on my ring finger.



También decidí hacer algo de estampación porque es una forma fácil de conseguir un diseño de uña completo... que vaga... Ya sé que estampar no es siempre de vagos porque a veces es una tecnica dificil, pero ya sabeis que normalmente yo hago mis propios dibujos con pinturas acrílicas, así que para mí si es que soy una vaga...
Para hacer esta manicura he utilizado Claire's 137 como base y he aplicado dos capas de Loreal Confetti en mi dedo corazón y el meñique, sin necesitar pescar o recolocar los glitters. Luego estampé con China Glaze Magical de la Colección Romantique, con BM-310 en el dedo índice y con BM-215 en el anular.

It took me less that half an hour to make it, and I used Seche Vite on top, so in less than two minutes was completely dried. I hope you liked and that you are enjoying this challenge so far because we have already done half of it!!

Tardé menos de media hora en hacerla, y utilicé Seche Vite encima, así que en menos de dos minutos estaba completamente seca. Espero que os haya gustado y que esteis disfrutando el Reto hasta ahora, porque ya hemos hecho la mitad!!

Seven Deadly Sins Challenge Day 6: Greed

Hi Girls!
The prompt for today's Challenge manicure says: "Remember, More is More... Don't hold yourself back!". I was going to use my BornPretty Studs again because I wasn't very happy with the Manicure I did for the Review, and I followed the Challenge Instructions word by word...

Las intrucciones del Reto para hoy dicen: "Recuerda, Más es Más... No te reprimas!". Iba a usar mis Studs de BornPretty otra vez porque no estaba muy feliz con la Manicura que hice para el Review, y seguí las Instrucciones del Reto palabra por palabra...

 So, instead of doing a little accent to my nails I decided to fill the whole nail with them!! Like an armour!
I started with two coats of Claire's 137 (No name... :(  it's a light mint colour) and then one coat of YSNY 050, a glass flecked topper with pink reflections. Finally I applied the golden studs while it was still wet.



Asi que, en vez de hacer unos pequeños detalles en las uñas decidí llenar la uña completa con ellos!! Como una armadura!
Comencé con dos capas de Claire's 137 (Sin nombre... :( es un color menta claro) y luego una capa de YSNY 050, un topper con flakies que reflejan en rosa. Para termina apliqué los studs dorados mientras estaba aún sin secar.

I wanted the studs to fit my nail perfectly and, as you can see, I made it! I just had to cut them in half with little scissors. They are very easy to cut and I think this is a good way to avoid gaps on the outlines of your nails.



Quería que los studs se ajustaran a mi uña perfectamente y , como podeis ver, lo he conseguido! Sólo tuve que cortarlos por la mitas con unas tijeritas. Son muy fáciles de cortar y creo que es una buena manera de evitar los huevos en los alrededores de las uñas.

I love the colour (I don't know why I don't use it more...) and the texture that the studs give to the look makes it really interesting. I hope you like it too.



Me encanta el color (No sé por qué no lo uso mas...) y la textura que le dan los studs al look lo hacen muy interesante. Espero que os guste a vosotros tambien.

Louis Vuitton Nails

This is a programmed post, because right now I am studying really really hard for my final exam that is next Wednesday. I'm so nervous!!
Do you remember the Glequins that Born Pretty Store sent me? They also sent me as a gift this Stamping Plate. At first I was going to try the English Flag Stamping first, because it looks really interesting that you need to use two stamps to make one design, but finally I decided to try one of the designs I have been dying to have since I bought my first plate, the Louis Vuitton Logo!

Este es un post programado, porque ahora mismo estoy estudiando muy muy fuerte oara mi examen final, que el es Miércoles. Estoy tan nerviosa!!
Os acordais de los Glequins que me envió Born Pretty Store? También me enviaron de regalo esta Placa de estampación. Al principio iba a probar la estampación de la bandera Inglesa, porque me parece muy interesante que esté diseñado para usar dos estampados diferentes para conseguir un único diseño, pero al final decidí probar uno de los dibujos que llevo queriendo tener desde que compré mi primera placa, el Logo de Louis Vuitton!

I also loved this manicure because the base colour is China Glaze For Audrey, a Chistmas Gift to myself, and I discovered is really good for stamping!! A pretty colour that stamps very well over dark colours? What else can I ask for? The brown polish is Kiko 323 (Such an ugly name for such a pretty colour)

También me ha encantado esta manicure porque el color de base es China Glaze For Audrey, un Regalto de Navidad de mí para mí, y he descubierto que estampa genial!! Un color tan bonito que estampa tan bien sobre colores oscuros? Qué más puedo pedir? El esmalte marrón es Kiko 323 (Un nombre demasiado feo para un color tan bonito)

I liked the designs a lot, but I was worried because I had heard the Born Pretty Designs were too small and I was afraid they didn't cover my entire nail, well, I was wrong, I am not sure if they have increased the size or not, but they fit perfectly and I compared them to my Bundle Monster Plates and more or less they were the same size.


Esta es la placa de estampación QA39 que podeis encontrar pinchando en el enlace en la tienda de Born Pretty.
Me encantaron los diseños, pero estaba preocupada porque había oído que eran demasiado pequeños y tenía miedo de que no me cubrieran la uña completa, bueno, pues estaba equivocada, no estoy segura de si han aumentado el tamaño o no, pero son perfectos, además los comparé con las Placas de Bundle Monster y más o menos son del mismo tamaño.

The designs were very well engraved and they transferred to the stamper perfectly. And, in case you were wondering, I use a Credit Card to scrap the polish and a Konad Stamper.
These looked so well that my mother, who doesn't like to wear anything on her nails, asked me to make the same on hers.



Los diseños están muy bién grabados y se transfirieron al tampón perfectamente. Y, en el caso de que os lo estéis preguntando, suelo usar una Tarjeta de Crédito para retirar el exceso de esmalte y un Tampón de Konad.
Esta manicura quedó tan bonita que hast ami madre, a la que no le gusta llevar nada en las uñas, me pidió que le hiciera lo mismo en las suyas.

Dollish Polish: Expecto Patronum!

I'm really excited today because of what I am going to show you! These Christmas, just right after my Birthday, I won a Trivia game organized by the Dollish Polish Facebook Page, and they sent me my first Indie Polish! Expecto Patronum! And I have double excitement because I am a major fan of Harry Potter Books and the name of the polish was just perfect!

Estoy muy emocionada hoy por lo que os tengo que enseñar! Estas Navidades, justo después de mi cumpleaños, gané un juego de Trivial organizado por la página de Facebook de Dollish Polish, y me enviaron mi primer Indie Polish! Expecto Patronum! Y tengo el doble de emoción porque soy una increíble fan de los libros de Harry Potter y el nombre del esmalte ha sido perfecto!

The shade was just perfect, lots of medium hex and tiny round turquoise glitters suspended on a white base. The amount of glitter is the right one and they spread so well that I didn't have to dab or place the glitter.

El tono del esmalte es perfecto, muchos glitters hexagonales de tamaño mediano y minúsculos redondos en turquesa, suspendidos en una base blanca. La cantidad de glitter es la más adecuada y se aplica tan bien que no tuve que dar toquecitos ni recolocar nada para que el glitter quedara en su sitio.

Depending on the light the glitter can seem green or blue, but most of the time is turquoise, I love it! And having finally one Indie Polish to use makes me want more and I am already searching the web for more different brands... Which one do you like most? or Which one would you like to see swached here?

Dependiendo de la luz el glitter puede parecer verde o azul, pero la mayor parte del tiempo es color turquesa, me encanta! Y tener finalmente un Indie Polish para usar me ha hecho querer mas! y ya estoy buscando por internet más marcas... ¿Cuáles os gustan más? o ¿Cuáles os gustaría ver aquí en el blog?

 The only thing I can complain about is that the brush was bent, (I am sure it's because the bottle wasn't closed properly not because they are like this) and it makes a little bit difficult the application, but I think it would fix itself with time...



Lo único de lo que me puedo quejar es de que el pincel estaba doblado, (Estoy segura de que es porque no estaba bien cerrado el bote, no porque sean así) y hace un poco difícil la aplicación, pero creo que se arreglará solo con el tiempo...

Say Hi to my new nubbins! I am going to be really busy with my exams soon and I decided to give them a break, so this blog would be a little bit lonely soon...  I needed three coats to achieve full opacity but the formula is good and my nails weren't bumpy or thick at all!



Decid Hola a mis nuevos nubbins! Voy a estar muy ocupada con los exámenes pronto y decidí darles un descansito, así que este blog va a estar un poco solitario pronto... Necesité tres capas para conseguir opacidad total, pero la fórmula es muy buena y mis uñas no tenían bultos ni quedaron demasiado gruesas!!

To give them an interesting twist I drew a baroque pattern in deep blue with acrylic paint, then I finished it with a coat of Seche Vite to smooth it all. What do you think? Do you like this shade? I also have to tell you that is way more beautiful in real life because my camera didn't want to capture the amazing shine of the glitter...



Para darle un toque interesante le dibujé una greca barroca en azul marino con pintura acrílica, y luego terminé con una capa de Seche Vite para alisarlo todo. ¿Qué os parece? ¿Os gusta este tono? También os tengo que decir que es mucho más bonito en persona porque mi cámara no quiso capturar el increíble brillo del glitter...

Disney Challenge Day 38: Monsters INC

I've skipped a whole week without noticing it! I thought today was the day for the Monsters INC manicure and it seems that I should have posted it last week!! One day I'm going to loose my head and I won't notice it... Well, so here it is the Monsters INC manicure 'sights'...

Me he saltado una semana entera sin saberlo! Pensé que hoy era el día de la manicura de Monstruos SA y parece que la debería haber subido la semana pasada!! Un día voy a perder la cabeza y no me voy a dar cuenta... Bueno, aquí teneis la manicra de Monstruos SA 'ufff''...

So, I decided to do the obvious drawing the main characters, Sully on the Index Finger (Spotted fur), Boo on the Middle Finger (With her cute monster costume) and Mike on the Pinkie! Also as you can see I made the Monsters INC Logo on my Ring Finger.



Decidí hacer lo obvio dibujando a los personajes principales, Sully en el dedo Índice (Pelo con manchas), Boo en el dedo Corazón (Con su disfraz de monstruo) y Mike en el Meñique ! Tambén, como podéis ver, hice el logotipo de Monstruos SA en el dedo anular.

I applied two coats of Yes Love 437 on my Index and Middle finger as the base, one coat of Flormar 400 on the ring finger and finally two coats of Yes Love 007 on the Pinkie. Then I drew everything with acrylic paints. Finally I added a few drops of topcoat on my Index and sprinkled with purple loose glitter to make Sully's spots.

Aplique dos capas de Yes Love 437 en mis dedos Índice y Corazón como base, una capa de Flormar 400 en el anular y finalmente dos capas de Yes Love 007 en el Meñique. Luego dibujé todo con pinturas acrílicas. Para terminar añadí unas gotas de topcoat en el Índice y espolvoreé glitter morado para hacer las manchas de Sully.

Summer Challenge Day 28: Summer Chevrons

Wow! the last post took me so long that now I don't have much time to do this. Just tello you that today is Summer Challenge Summer Chevrons' Day and that is my attempt.

Wow! El último post me tomó tanto tiempo que ahora no tengo tiempo para escribir este. Solo deciros que hoy es el Día de Summer Chevrons para el Summer Challenge y que esto es lo que yo he hecho.

This is inspirated on a manicure that I saw a long time ago on a blog that now I can't remember, but it was in black. For this manicure I used tape and China Glaze Turned Up turquoise, which has become my most favourite polish for summer because is so colorful and fresh. Topped with Essence Glitter Topcoat an Seche Vite.

Esta manicura está inspirada en otra que vi en un blog que ahora no soy capaz de recordar, pero era en negro. Para esta manicura he usado celo y China Glace Turned Up Turquoise, que por cierto se ha convertido en mi color preferido para el verano por ser colorido y fresco. Lleva tambien una capa de Essence Glitter Topcoat y Seche Vite.

Summer Challenge Day 17: Retro/Hippie/Summer of Love

Today my manicure is really simple. I have wanted to do this mani for a long time but I needed my nails to be longer. You know, french manicures look better when you have long nails. This is not the first time I do this manicure, because I love this design for summer, but I have always thought that it was a really hippie manicures, I don't know why, I suppose it's for the colours.

La manicura de hoy es muy sencilla. He querido hacer esta manicura desde hace mucho tiempo, pero necesitaba que mis uñas estuvieran más largas. Ya sabeis que las manicuras francesas se ven mejor cuando tienes las uñas largas.
No es la primera vez que hago esta manicura porque me encanta el diseño para llevarlo en verano, pero siempre he pensado que era un estilo muy hippie, no se por qué, supongo que será por los colores.
