Hi Girls!

It is being quite difficult to keep up with my new job and all the things I need to do for the blog. The truth is that I am having trouble to find time to paint my nails and do my makeup, even more to find the inspiration to do things that I really like. But Halloween is coming and this is something that always get my mind to work and this came up the other day.

Esta siendo complicado llevar adelante mi trabajo nuevo y todas las cosas que necesito para el blog. La verdad esque estoy teniendo problemas para encontrar tiempo para pintarme las uñas o maquillarme, más incluso para encontrar la inspiración necesaria para hacer algo que realmente me guste. Pero Halloween está a la vuelta de la esquina y siempre es algo que hace trabajar a mi mente, y esto es lo que salió el otro día.

What a pleasure to be here in Nailwish! Hello to you! I'm Cristina from Portugal and you can find me at The Clockwise Nail Polish blog. I follow Helena since like... for ever! I can't even number the times her nail art work, creativity and manicures blown me away... I think you understand me quite well lol. So, it was with a lot of excitement that I said yes (!) to be here today :) But then come the issue... what to do?! I took a lot of time to think of something and eventually decided to do what I've been wanting to do for a couple of months: a pastel galaxy nail art.

The trick about pastel galaxies is that there's no glitters to it; it was also a difficult task to choose polishes. I started by painting my nails white with China Glaze Snow (3 coats). After dry the fun begun! Using a piece of a makeup sponge I randomly sponged Kiko 385 Blue Pastello, Elixir Make-Up Nº 62 and Pastel Nº100; I assure you it was a coincidence to use only European polishes hehe :p Next was the stars. Normally here I would use a glitter polish in a traditional galaxy nail art. But as a pastel nail art, I did dots here and there using a dotting tool and China Glaze Snow :)

China Glaze Snow, Kiko 285 Blu Pastello, Elixir make-up Nº62 and Pastel Nº100

What do you think?? Do you prefer the traditional galaxies or would you try a pastel one? I assure you I love this version! It stayed in my nails for three days :p I'm now crazy and want to try more pastel shades like purple, pink, yellow, white...! Endless possibilities :p Nail wish readers and Helena, I'm repeating myself but it was a huge pleasure to be here! :D Kisses to you all! :)

BornPretty Store Stripping Tape

Today I want to show you a new nail art item from BornPretty Store. I have been wanting to try the stripping tape for so long... and I finally have it!!

Hoy os quiero enseñar otro producto de nail art de BornPretty Store. Llevo queriendo probar los stripping tape tanto tiempo... y por fin es mío!!

They have a lot of colours to choose from, and I asked for #27 Laser Silver Grey. 

I wanted to show you the multiple things you can do with the stripping tape, so I made a skittle manicure, a skittle mani is one where all the nails are different but form a cohesive whole, this time all designs have been made with the same pallet of colours and also using stripping tape.

Tienen muchos colores entre los que escoger, y yo pedí el #27 Laser Silver Grey.

Os quería enseñar todo lo que podéis hacer con el stripping tape, así que he hecho una manicura Skittle, una manicura Skittle es en la que todas las uás son diferentes pero forman un conjunto cohesionado, esta vez todos los diseños están hechos con la misma paleta de colores y usando el stripping tape.

The first nails is the easiest one, just one coat of Yes Love Pastel Purple and a geometric design on top using the tape. The middle is a colour block design with Yes Love Pastel Purple, Flormar 400 and Easy Paris 402.

La primera uña es la más sencilla, simplemente una capa de Yes Love Paste Purple yun diseño geométrico usando el stripping tape. El del dedo corazón es un diseño colour block con Yes Love Pastel Purple, Flormar 400 y Easy Paris 402.

The rest of the nails is what you can do painting on top of the tape and removing it later, on the ring finger we have a gradient from light to dark purple where I placed the stripes and removed after I had done the gradient on top, and finally on the last nail I did he same, painted one coat of Yes Love pastel Purple, placed the tape making stripes and applied one coat of Flormar 400 on top, and before it was dry I removed the stripes showing the colour from underneath.

El resto de las uñas es lo que puedes hacer pintando encima del celo y retirándolo luego, en el dedo anular tenemos un degradado de morado claro a oscuro donde coloqué las tiras y las retiré tras haber hecho el degradado encima, y finalmente, en la última uña hice lo mismo, pinté una capa de Yes Love Pastel Purple, coloqué el celo haciendo líneas y apliqué una capa de Flormar 400 encima, y antes de que estuviera seco retiré las tiras dejando ver el color de debajo.

I hope you liked it! The design took me no longer than 20 min, so it's a good solution for when you don't have time to make something difficult but you don''t want to wear plain nails. SummerNails Challenge #9: Barcos/Boats

Today I almost forgot about the SummerNails Challenge!! The theme for today is Boats! I wasn't feeling like painting a boat on my nails, so I decided to make some nautical nails instead.

Hoy casi se me olvida el Reto Summer Nails!! Es tema de hoy es Barcos! No me apetecía pintar barquitos en las uñas, así que decidí hacer unas uñas nauticas.

I first applied two coats of Flormar 400 and waited until it was completely dry. While I was waiting I cut two stripes of tape for each finger and then placed them on the nails. On top I made a gradient with Flormar 400 and Kiko 336 and removed the tape.



Primero apliqué dos capas de Flormar 400 y esperé hasta que estuvo completamente seco. Mientras esperaba fui cortando dos tiras de celo para cada dedo y luego las coloqué en las uñas. Encima hice un degradado con Flormar 400 y Kiko 336 y retiré las tiras de celo.

As you can see on the ring finger I made the gradient backwards and placed some round golden studs from Born Pretty Store making an anchor shape.



Como podeis ver en el dedo anular hice el degradado al contrario y coloqué algunas tachuelas redondas doradas de Born Pretty Store haciendo un ancla.

I loved this manicure so much that I wore it for a whole week!! I hope you liked it too.

SummerNails Challenge #8: Palmeras/Palm Trees

Hi Everyone!
Here it is another day of the SummerNails Challenge, I am a little bit out of inspiration these days, so I'm just going to say that this one was one of my favourites manis so far because you all know I love gradient backgrounds...

Aqui estamos otro dia del eto SummerNails, estoy un poco sin inspiración estos días así que sólo voy a decir que esta ha sido una de mis manicuras favoritas de lo que llevamos porque ya sabeis que me encantan los fondos en degradado...

This time I decided to do another kind of gradient, instead of doing it with the make up sponge I made it just with brush strokes of acrylic paint. So this manicure doesn't have a lot of nail polish, just the sky blue base that I made with Yes Love Y36.



Esta vez he decidido hacer otro tipo de degradado, en vez de hacerlo con la esponja de maquillaje lo he hecho solo con pinceladas de pintura acrílica. Así que esta manicura no lleva casi esmalte de uñas, sólo la base azul cielo que hice con Yes Love Y36.

The palm trees were (obviously) the trickiest part of the design, the leaves needed super thin lines, but the good thing was that they are messy so if you make any mistake nobody would notice.



Las palmeras fueron (obviamente) la parte más difícil del diseño, las hojas necesitan líneas super finas, pero lo bueno es que son desordenadas así que si uno se equivoca nadie lo notará.

SummerNails Challenge 5: Limonada/Lemonade

Hi Everyone!
I hope you all are enjoying your summer (or winter if you are from the other side of the world), my vacations ends today, so I will be arriving home in a few hours and start blogging in real time for tomorrow, well, let's talk about today's manicure. When I started this challenge I didn't notice that there where so many fruity manicures in a row! But I promise this is the last one. Here it is my Lemonade Manicure!

Espero que esteis disfrutando del verano (o del invierno si sois del otro lado del mundo), mi viaje de vacaciones termina hoy, así que llegaré a casa en unas horas y comenzare a bloggear a tiempo real mañana, bueno, vamos a hablar sobre la manicra de hoy. Cuando comencé este reto no me di cuenta de que había tantas manicuras de frutas seguidas! Pero os prometo que esta ya es la última. Aquí teneis mi Manicura de Limonada!

I love how this turned out, the most important thing was that when I started painting my nails I hadn't anything planned as I usually do, I just did what I felt that I liked and I am really proud it turned this pretty... When I see this manicure I immediately feel the need of having some lemonade, lemon ice cream or lemon drops (Like Dumbledore).



Me encanta como salió, lo más importante fue que cuando comencé a pintarme las uñas no tenía nada pensado como normalmente hago, simplemente hice lo que sentía que me iba a gustar y estoy muy orgullosa de que quedara tan bonita... Cuando veo esta manicura enseguida me enta hambre de limonada, helado de limon o caramelos de limón (Como Dumbledore).

To make this manicure I used: Yes Love Y74 as the base and then made a three colour gradient with Yes Love Y74, Yes Love 007 and China Glaze Holly-Day. Finally I added Fimo lemon slices and on the accent nails some green Glequins. Easy and quick!



Para hacer esta manicura utilicé: Yes Love Y74 para la base y luego hice un degradado de tres colores con Yes Love Y74, Yes Love 007 y China Glaze Holly-Day. Para terminar añadí unas rodajas de limón de Fimo y en las accent nails algunos Glequins verdes. Fácil y rápido!

SummerNails Challenge 2: Playa/Beach

Today I finished my exams!! YAYYY!!! And to celebrate it I have recreated for today's Summer Nails Challenge theme, one of my all time favourites manicure: Chalkboard Nails' Beauty and the Beach.

Hoy he terminado los exámenes!! BIENNN!!! Y para celebrarlo he recreado para el tema de hoy del Reto SummerNails, una de mis manicuras preferidas desde siempre: Beauty and the Beach de Chalkboard Nails.

This was the first manicure I saw from Chalkboard Nails, and I fell in love with it, (and with all her other manicures hehe). I didn't want to copy it exactly, but everything was so perfect that I only changed the position of the designs. (Her sand nails are on the Index and Middle finger, and the other three have the water design).



Esta fue la primera manicura que vi de Chalkboard Nails, y me enamoré de ella (y de todas sus otras manicuras jaja). No quería copiarla exactamente, pero todo estaba tan bien hecho que solo cambié la posición de los diseños. (En la suya  las uñas de arena están en los dedos Índice y Corazón, y los otros tres tienen el diseño del agua).

For the water nails I made a gradient using Flormar 310 and Yes Love Y36. Then, using white acrylics, I freehanded water reflections. To make the sand nails I started with one coat of Essence Gold Rush, but it ended almost covered with tiny dots of different shades of nudes. I freehanded the little starfish with acrylic paints too.



Para las uñas de agua hice un degradado con Flormar 310 y Yes Love Y36. Luego, usando acrílica blanca, dibujé los reflejos del agua. Para hacer la arena comencé con una capa de Essence Gold Rush, pero quedó casi cubierta por los mini puntitos de diferentes tonos de nudes. Dibujé la pequeña estrella de mar también con acrílicos.

I have to remove this manicure soon to make some more, but when I take vacations to go to the beach I will be wearing these again for sure!! I hope you liked it!

Seven Deadly Sins Challenge Day 14: Pride

Today is the day! This is the last manicure of the Deadly Sins Challenge! I didn't want it to end, that's why I have been procrastinating a little bit... But I have put all my effort to make a beautiful manicure!

Hoy es el dia! Esta es la última manicura del Reto de los Pecado Capitales! No quería que se terminara así que por eso lo he estado demorando un poco... Pero me he esforzado al máximo para hacer una manicura preciosa!

The prompt for the last day of Pride is: "This is your time! Brag about how good you are at..." This was a hard one for me because I always think that I have to improve, but I have noticed that usually people like my gradient manicures, so I decided to do this Acid gradient with Yellow, Green and Blue.

Las instrucciones para el último día de Orgullo dicen: "Este es tu momento! Presume de lo bueno que eres en..." Estas han sido bastante difíciles para mí porque siempre creo que tengo algo que mejorar, pero me he dado cuenta de que a la gente le suelen gustar mis manicuras degradadas, así que he decidido hacer este degradado Ácido con Amarillo, Verde y Azul.

I used three colours for this gradient, Yes love Pastel Yellow, Yes Love Pastel Green and Kiko 336, but I was amazed how the combination of the Blue and Green made a really pretty Teal Colour!! Of course I needed to do some nail art on it, because I think that is one of the things I do best...

Utilicé tres colores para el degradado, Yes love Pastel Yellow, Yes Love Pastel Green and Kiko 336, pero me quedé impresionada de cómo la combinación del Azul y el Verde crearon un color turquesa precioso!! Por supuesto tenía que hacer algo de nail art, porque creo que es una de las cosas que me salen mejor...

I saw this kind of nail art that looks like a butterfly wing a long time ago when I was starting blogging and I fell in love with it, and this seemed the right moment to give it a try. I loved the result!! I hope you like it too... 

And this is a Goodbye... but tomorrow there is going to be a big surprise that will mean changes to the blog... at least for a few months, and I hope you will be as excited as I am. Don't miss it!!

Vi este tipo de nail art que parece un ala de una mariposa hace ya mucho tiempo, cuando comencé con el blog, y me enamoré, y este me pareció un buen momento para darle una oportunidad. Me ha encantado!! Espero que a vosotros también...

Esmaltes Purple Professional

Today I bring you a little bit different post, because a new brand of Nail Polish called Purple Professional sent me some polishes to show you, and I am really excited because I loved each one I received!
But first of all I want to talk a little about this brand: Purple Professional is a Portuguese Cosmetic brand that is expanding their business internationally, they care about the environment and make very good quality polishes, let's see it!

Hoy os traigo un post un poco diferente, porque una marca nueva de Esmaltes llamada Purple Professional me ha enviado algunos esmaltes para enseñaros, y estoy muy contenta porque me han encantado cada uno de los que me han mandado!
Pero antes de nada os quiero hablar un pelin de la marca: Purple Professional es una marca de Cosmética Portuguesa que se está expandiendo de forma internacional, se preocuan por el medio ambiente y hacen esmaltes de muy buena calidad, vamos a verlo!

How cute is their packaging? I love they have their bottles decorated with little birds and dragonflies... The package reminds me a lot to Catrice Polishes, if it's not the same... Purple Professional's bottles contain 10 ml of nail polish and their brushes are flat with very good quality fibers.



A que es bonito su packaging? Me encanta que hayan decorado sus botes con pajaritos y libélulas... Los botes me recuerdan mucho a los esmaltes de Catrice, si no son los mismos.. Los esmaltes de Purple Professional contienen 10 ml y sus pinceles son planos y con fibras de buena calidad.

The only two things I would complain about these polishes are that some of their shades are really hard to photograph with accurate colour and that they don't have names, just numbers... This is number 39 an orangish coral colour, even if it looks a little bit pinker on the swatches.



Las dos únicas cosas sobre las que me quejaría de estos esmaltes serían que algunos tonos son muy complicados de fotografiar con con color fiel y que no tienen nombres, sólo números... Este es el número 39, un color coral anaranjado, aunque parezca un poco más rosa en los swatches.

This gorgeous colour is number 44. I have seen it described as a strong bubblegum neon pink, but it seems more neon bright purple to me, mostly when I compare it to the next shade they sent me...



Este color tan bonito es el número 44. Lo he visto descrito como un rosa chicle neón, pero a mi me parece más un morado claro neón, sobre todo cuando se compara con el siguiente tono que me enviaron...

This polish is the number 65, a bright neon pink, or a bubblegum pink in my opinion... It was the sheerest of all, because I used two coats for all the swatches and with this colour you can still see through.
I didn't use topcoat on any of the swatches, all the shine you see on the pictures is from the polish (So shiny on their own!) The formula and application were superb, no issues with bald spots or any kind of problems...



Este esmalte es el número 65, un rosa neón brillante, o en mi opinión un rosa chicle... Es el más transparente de todos, porque usé dos capas en todos los swatches y en este todavía se ve a través.
No utilicé topcoat en ninguno de los swatches, todo el brillo que se ve en las fotos es del esmalte (Son tán brillantes por sí solos!!) La fórmula y aplicación fueron impecables, sin problemas con huecos o ningún tipo de problema...

I'm sorry for the long post but, the first time I saw the three shades together I knew I had to do a neon gradient with them, I am really impatient for summer to come and this manicure helped me through it...



Lo siento por el post tan largo, pero la primera vez que vi los tres colores juntos supe que tenía que hacer un degradado neon con ellos, estoy muy impaciente por que llegue el verano y esta manicura me ayuda a superarlo...

At the top of this post I told you that Purple Professional is a brand that care about the environment, and I said it because the best thing about these polishes is that they are 5 FREE, this means that they don't use the next 5 dangerous substances as ingredients of their polishes:
- Toluene
- Formaldehyde
- Phthalates
- Camphor
- Formaldehyde Resin



Al principio del post os dije que Purple Professional es una marca que se preocupa por el medio ambiente, y lo dije porque lo mejor de estos esmaltes es que son 5FREE, esto significa que no utilizan las siguientes sustancias peligrosas como ingredientes de sus esmaltes:
- Tolueno
- Formaldehido
- Ftalatos
- Camphor
- Resina de Formaldehido

Of course I wanted to finish the review with some nail art, using the neon gradient as the base. To make it I first applied one coat of Flormar 400, because when you want your neon colours to really pop it's better to use a white base underneath. Then I made the gradient with a make up sponge and drew the stars by hand with my Black Sharpie Marker.

Por supuesto tenía que terminar el review con algo de nail art, usando el degradado neon como base. Para hacerlo primero apliqué una capa de Flormar 400, porque cuando quieres que los colores neon resalten es mejor usar una base blanca debajo. Luego hice el degradado con una esponja de maquillaje y dibujé las estrellas a mano con mi Rotulador Negro Permanente.

This week is being absolutely crazy! I officially started my final exams and this is taking a lot of time of my free/nail art time... But the true reason for the delay of all the manicures of this week has been that I ran out of nail polish remover and I had to wait until I had time to go to buy some more to paint my nails. Anyway here it is the manicure for the Zodiac Challenge, today the inspiration is Gemini.

Esta semana está siendo de locos! He comenzado oficialmente mis examenes finales y están llevándose gran parte de mi tiempo libre/nail art... Pero la verdadera razón del retraso de las manicuras de esta semana ha sido que me quedé sin quitaesmaltes y he tenido que esperar hasta que he tenido tiempo para ir a comprar más para poder pintarme las uñas. De todas formas aquí teneis la manicura del Reto del Zodíaco, hoy la inspiración es Geminis.

The ones that are born between May 21st and June 20th are under the influence of Gemini, they are supposed to be playful, elegant, intelligent and love family. The colour of this sign is yellow, but I don't think that colours goes well with my skintone, so I decided to use a very bright golden glitter instead, and make a gradient with it. 



Los que han nacido entre el 21 de Mayo y el 20 de Junio están bajo la influencia de Geminis, supuestamente son juguetones, elegantes, inteligentes y amantes de la familia. El color de este signo es el amarillo, pero no creo que este color vaya bien con mi tono de piel, así que he utilizado glitter de un color dorado brillante, y he hecho un degradado con él.

For the two girls I used This Picture as inspiration. I drew the hair and faces without the black lines with acrylic paints and then outlined it and made the small details with the Black Sharpie Marker, I also added Gemini's Signs with it. The polishes I used for this manicure were Flormar 400 for the base and Easy Paris Golden Glitter.

Dibujé el pelo y las caras sin las líneas negras con pinturas acrílicas y luego repasé y añadí los detalles cn el Rotulador Indeleble Negro, también dibujé los Signos de Géminis con él. Los esmaltes que he utilizado para esta manicura han sido Flormar 400 para la base y Easy Paris Golden Glitter.

Seven Deadly Sins Day 7: Sloth

For all of you who follow me on Instagram you already know how today's manicure look, but, as the first Sloth Prompt says: "Don't try too hard but explain everyone how to do something really easy", I promised a tutorial for this design.

Para todos los que me seguís en Instagram ya sabeis cómo es la manicura de hoy, pero, como dice la primera instrucción de la Pereza: "No te esfuerces demasiado pero explicale a todos cómo hacer algo muy sencillo", os prometí un tutorial para este diseño.

I promise it's going to be an easy tutorial because it's made with black sharpie markers. I decided to make a Neon gradient background because here in Spain we are having a great weather, almost like summer, so I was on the mood of wearing bright colours.



Os prometo que va a ser un tutorial sencillo porque está hecho con rotuladores permanentes. Decidí hacer un degradado Neón de fondo porque aquí en España estamos teniendo un tiempo estupendo, casi de verano, así que me sentía de humor para llevar colores brillantes.

It's the first time I use so many colours on a gradient and it turned really well, at first I was a little bit skeptical because I didn't know if my nails were going to be long enough, but they were!
To make the gradient I used the following polishes from tip to top:
- Yes Love Y75
- China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise
- Yes Love Pastel Green
- Ecovital Bright Sunset



Es la primera vez que uso tantos colores en un degradado y ha salido realmente bien, al principio estaba un poco escéptica porque no sabía si mis uñas iban a ser lo suficientemente largas, pero lo fueron!
Para hacer el degradado he utilizado los siguientes esmaltes desde la punta hasta arriba:

- Yes Love Y75
- China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise
- Yes Love Pastel Green
- Ecovital Bright Sunset

I just did the tutorial for one design because the fun part of working with sharpie is that you can do any design you want! And the best thing is that if you make a mistake you can just erase it with a little bit of alcohol without ruining the whole thing!!!
I usually don't plan the designs, I just start drawing lines and filling gaps. Also I think gradient backgrounds are perfect for this kind of manicures, but you can make it with just one colour or stripes...



Sólo he hecho el tutorial para un diseño porque la parte divertida de trabajar con permanente es que se puede hacer cualquier diseño que querais! Y lo mejor de todo es que si os equivocais se puede borrar con un poquito de alcohol sin estropear la manicura de debajo!!!
Normalmente no planeo los diseños, sólo comienzo a dibujar líneas y a rellenar huecos. También creo que los fondos en degradado son perfectos para este tipo de manicuras, pero también lo podeis hacer con un solo color o a rayas...

Water Spotted Gradient Nails

Hi Girls!!
I am so sorry I have been a little MIA lately, but I think you can understand that January it's a hard time for blogging because of all the exams... This week I had some free time and I used it to make lots of manicures, so now I have a lot of blogging material to show you while I'm studying. I promise I am not going to leave you alone again for a looong time!
A few weeks ago I saw an effect that was really similar to OPI Black Spotted effect, the new technique Water Spotted. I am not sure who invented it, but I traced the source to this Youtube video made by CutePolish. And after a whole afternoon practising it (Water + Polish + Me is not a good combination) I ended with something I liked.

Siento mucho haber estado un poco MIA últimamente, pero creo que comprenderéis que Enero es un mes complicado para bloggear por culpa de los exámenes... Esta semana he tenido finalmente algo de tiempo libre y lo que usado para hacer un montón de manicuras, así que ahora tengo mucho material para enseñaros mientras está estudiando. Os prometo que no os voy a volver a dejar solos en muuucho tiempo!
Hace unas semanas vi un efecto que se marecía mucho al efecto de OPI Black Spotted, la nueva técnica Water Spotted. No estoy muy segura de quién la inventó pero he seguido la fuente hasta este video de Youtube hecho por CutePolish. Y después de pasar toda la tarde practicándolo (Agua + Esmalte + Yo no somos una buena combinación) terminé con algo que por fin me gustó.

Wow! I think it's the first time I jump into a new trend in time!! I hope you like it! CutePolish says that she uses Hand sanitizer to make the holes in the water, here in Spain it's hard to find so I tried with Nail Polish Remover and it worked just fine!



Wow! Creo que es la primera vez que me uno a una nueva moda a tiempo!! Espero que os guste! CutePolish dice que ella usa desinfectante de manos para hacer los agujeros en el agua, aquí en España es difícil de encontrar, así que lo he intentado con quitaesmaltes y ha funcionado igual de bien!

I played with different backgrounds for the nails and the one that worked better for me was the gradient, and finally I decided to make a rainbow gradient so we could see the water spotted looks with different colours. I think my favourite finger is the green one. It looks so bright and shiny...



Estuve jugando con fondos diferentes para las uñas y la que más me gustó como quedaba fue el degradado, y finalmente decidí hacer un degradado en arcoiris para que pudiéramos ver cómo queda el water spotted con colores diferentes. Creo que mi dedo preferido es el verde, queda tan intenso y brillante...
